"150.6MB" wheh. thats a big update, i sure am glad i have high speed internet lol 🙂 But has their been a confirmation of the negative black fix? Im seeing different outcomes
I had my new iPod Touch delivered this morning, and was gutted to find that it was a week 37. It was displaying some of the negative black issues (although not as bad as some users have reported), but after installing the update my screen looks perfect. I can't believe the difference it's made! The picture and colours are crisp and clear - there is no washout of the screen at all and the blacks look wonderful. I'm so, so happy! 🙂
Well this is a sight for sore eyes. I've been holding off getting the touch because of the neg. black screen issues. Seems to have fixed it. So any details officially on what all is involved in the update?
I have an 8GB week 38 that I bought in Toronto a few days ago. I never noticed any real issue with the screen, although the image does change slightly as you tilt the Touch. Not unlike any LCD screen.
The 1.1.1 update installed and I haven't noticed any major changes - maybe my mind thinks it's seeing something, but I don't think anything has changed for me. Looks just fine.
That being said, don't try to connect your Touch through the USB ports on a Dell LCD (2407FP) - just won't work. Needs a more direct connection. Unsure as to why - my Shuffle works just fine through the LCD's ports.
Lovin' the Touch. Best iPod ever.
Oh - and while maybe it was always supposed to be like this, but now when I sync my photos, iTunes finally recognizes each sub-folder in my main folder of pics as an Album. Before 1.1.1 my Touch just had all 800 photos in one main album. Now the folders have migrated over as Albums.
I updated earlier that mine seems to be working today after 1.1.1, but there was still some synching weirdness (although it has briefly "seemed" to work in the past only to blow up after synching, so we shall see...)
