Weird question - How long is the power cable for the new 24" iMac

Anyone know how long the power cable for the iMac is? I'm planning to wall mount my iMac, and would probably need 6-7 feet of cable.

BTT.. Anyone? I'd like to know if I can run the power cable, or I may need to hire an electrician to run a new outlet. I don't need an exact measurement, someone must be able to visually see/measure theirs?

Don't forget to get and use a Surge Protector Strip they can be purchased with 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 + feet of extra cord to reach your outlet.

Looks like 6' to me, but I did not measure it, it's mounted on an arm.

Thanks! So it might be close...

The problem I have with the surge is the aesthetics.. I plan to wall mount the iMac for standing use, not for sitting. So we're talking 2 ft of run through the wall mount arm, and then 4 maybe 5 feet drop down to the outlet. The surge protector length is not an issue if I wanted to use one, but if the default power cord isn't long enough, the surge would need to go on the table, which I only wanted to reserve for the wireless keyboard and mouse (minimalist approach)... I guess I could always mount the surge protector on the underside/back of the table...

I would install the arm as low as possible if I was you (assuming your outlet is low) since the power cable will have to run through the whole arm cable management system anyway and you would also have less cable to see down the wall. My arm has an 18" vertical range and a reach of 27" from its attached point so you just extend it up enough for perfect viewing.

Thanks Jean! Yes, I'm looking at a peerless wall mount that extends 20". 20"+ distance to the port + distance to the outlet.. In regards to mounting it low, the Mac will be used while standing.. When I order the iMac (waiting for Leopard), I'll see how low on the wall I can install it and still be able to work well standing.. I guess this is where the big chin comes in handy!! 🙂 Might be close.. 🙂
