iPhone volume button

I have been experiencing a weird behaviour on my iPhone since yesterday. As every one aware the volume up/down button is sensitive , and the down button is too sensitive in my iPhone (Sometimes I won't even feel I am reducing the volume) . It's happening frequently from y'day that , my ringer volume is reduced to max low without even touching the volume button (When I am on the screen as well as off the screen). If it happens when I am on the screen , ringer icon stays on top for some time (app 1 min). When I tried to increase the volume , its not allowing me todo so. If I give about 5 mins ,every thing back to normal.

I am suspecting , the down volume button getting struck in some position and causing this behaviour or Is it do with the firmware upgrade(1.1.1), I did 2 days back. Could any please advice how to proceed on this??

Thanks

Everyone is aware it is sensitive...I don't think that is the case. I own two iPhones and both have volumn buttons that are not sensitive. I have never accidently changed the volumn and when I do try it takes a good amount of pressure for a click of the buttons (not saying I have to push hard, but it is by no means sensitive). It could just be you got a iPhone that just happened to be sensitive. If it a big concern to you, I would suggest an Apple Store where you can show them it is sensitive. They may swap phones for you or at least fix yours.

When I first got my iPhone I was also pressing the volume button and altering the volume when I would least want to do so.

When I got my skin case, and not because of the volume toggle situation, I noticed that it takes a lot more pressure physical pressure to alter the volume level. I need to intentionally want to do so.

The skin case was purchased for other reasons but the collateral of the volume toggle correction was totally by chance.

Thanks for all your feedback. I am still experiencing the same problem. No luck. I am trying to study the situation so that I can talk to the Apple Service personnel better.

Below are the latest findings.

Ringer icon appears on the screen and volume goes down , when I am on Email , Safari or iPod for 15 to 20 mins . The icon stays on the screen for ever until I switch off the screen. Every thing back to normal if the phone is idle for 30 mins.
Some times volume goes down .. by just pressing the case (just below volume button)

I am now confused , whether its a software (1.1.1) or hardware issue..

I think I can help. I'll say a month after I had my 1st Iphone I started expierencing the same problem with my phone it was the the volume up button. My phone would start turning up the volume on its own and I couldn't understand why? I hadn't drop my phone or nothing, I called apple spoke to a tech guy and scheduled it for repair this is before the software update. When they sent it back it was a brand new phone so I'm going to say it is a hardware problem or else they wouldn't have sent me a brand new one. So make the call and hopefully the same happens for you. Oh by the way I wasn't charged a thing it was covered by the warranty. Hope this helps.
