I'll appreciate any help,

Thanks

@ M. Lafferty or anybody else with knowledge.

Hi Michael,
...and another!

Palm Vx
Keyspan Serial Adaptor USA-19QW
MacG5 1.6PowerPC
OS 10.5.6
Build 9G66
Serial ..... PQ67
Hot Sync 3.2.1
Palm Desktop 4.2.1

All worked fine till Palm Vx left out of cradle and powered down. This occurred at the same time as an upgrade from 10.4.6 (I think)
I reset my Palm but lost all my handheld applications other than standard set.
Need to reload files.
Files available on Download Files on Hot Sync Desktop Handheld Files list.

Hot Sync launches from cradle but communication to desktop fails.
Graphics don't animate. Sure they used too.
USA-19QW (Keyspan Serial Adaptor) can be seen on the Mac USB bus (About this Mac)

Hot Sync launches from Desktop but fails to see handheld.

No Isync option in Hot Sync to best of my knowledge.

Any ideas please.

Looks like this or something similar is causing considerable discussion.

Stuart

Hi,

would you please send me also the iSync conduit for the Palm (I'm using an old Palm III). I'm not able to sync the Palm (not over the Palm-Software Vers. 4.2.1, nor over the iSync).

• the version of Mac OS X you are using : Mac OS X10.5.7
• the build number: 9J61
• the last three characters of your eleven character machine serial number: 8QT

As a USB-Serial-Connector I use a Keyspan USA-19HS

Thanks a lot,
Nicholas

Hi,

I have bought a MacBookPro and a PalmTX in 09/97. They did not sync. The iSync conduit was not visible in the HotSync Conduit Manager. I mailed several times to this form no help.

But there is. The program MissingSyc ( http://www.markspace.com/products/palm/palm-sync-software.html) solved my problems: iCal, tasks, notices were synchronised since 03/98.

I am sorry to tell you this here so late, but because of my disappointment about this forum, Apple and Palm I did not follow the discussion here any further.

Best regards.

If I missed your earlier request for the package, I apologize. Some time ago, I built a package with iSync Palm Conduits for use with both Mac OS X 10.4.x and 10.5.x.

You were wise, however, to invest in the Missing Sync for Palm OS, as Palm device synchronization is not likely to be supported in future major releases of Mac OS X.

I couldn't see the iSync Conduit in the Manager either because iSync wouldn't install it. I tried several times, read a few posts here and elsewhere and tried again. No go. I was attempting to do this from a standard account so, on a whim, I tried it from an admin account and, ta da, it installed and is visible back in the standard account. HTH.

There is absolutely NO support for Palm devices of any kind in iSync with the release of Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard, and there will be no future support for them from Apple at all. Under Mac OS X 10.4.x and 10.5.x you can synchronize, though rather poorly, with iSync and the iSync Palm Conduit.

Or, you can simply opt to use the {url=http://www.markspace.com/products/palm/palm-sync-software.html]Missing Sync for Palm OS[/url] which provides extensive support for Palm OS—not Windows OS or WebOS—Palm handheld organizers and smartphones.

The latest release of iSync puts Palm OS users on the same field as Blackberry OS, Danger OS, SONY PSP, Windows Mobile OS and WebOS users, with no support for their devices.

If your problem is the SPECIFIC one cited in this thread, in which the conduit no longer appears in the HotSync Manager and cannot be configured, I can provide a replacement conduit package which contains working conduits for both the Tiger and Leopard releases.

My Problem is however that Hotsync (iSync Version 3.0.2 (574.0)) failed after updating to OS 10.5.8. Before everything went great (you sent me the right apple conduit some years ago...).
Here the last hotsync protocol:

HotSync 3.2 started 7.9.2009 13:07:16 Uhr
Local Synchronization
OK Installation
iSync Conduit starting 7.9.2009 13:07:18 Uhr
Timeout waiting for Sync Engine, exiting 7.9.2009 13:12:55 Uhr
iSync Conduit synchronization failed
'iSync Conduit' failed (error = #-2)
OK Medien
OK Memos
Merkzettel did nothing
OK Installation
Sicherungskopie erstellt: AddressCitiesDB.pdb
Sicherungskopie erstellt: Saved Preferences.prc
OK Sicherungskopie
Last sync time and PC ID updated on handheld
