24 Hour Clock Won't Change - Bug?

Hello,

Got my Touch yesterday and I LOVE it.
I have discovered a little problem and its with the Time. Its displayed and won't changed from 24h to 12. In the Date & Time adjustment menu, 24-Hour Time is turned off, and the time displayed on the top bar remains in 24 hours.
The weird thing is, in the Set Date & Time menu the dials to spin to change the time show the 12hour clock with AM and PM... however on the same screen, the Dark Blue Highlighted area and the menu bar still show 24hours. If you set the time to 6:00am, its displayed at 06:00... but if you set it to 6:00pm, it become 18:00.

I can't seem to get it to display properly?
I've tried changing Time Zone, and adding/ changing world clock, but still nothing.
How can I fix this? Is this a known bug?

Thanks for any help.

I think I have found the problem...

I'm in the UK, so for the General > International > Region Format > Says: United Kingdom... but if I change it to United States. The time appears in 12hours with AM and PM. (Also the 24-Hour Clock ON/OFF works).

Why doesn't this work for UK? We don't all tell/use 24 hour clock!

Leaving it at the United States changes the format for telephone numbers, date ect...ect..

Just found out that this is also the same on the Mac... HOW has this been overlooked?

I have this problem too - in New Zealand. The iPod touch is running V1.1.1 and I'm syncing to iTunes on Windows XP SP2.

Every time I dock the ipod with iTunes running it switches back to 24 hour time mode and resets the time from the PC's time. New Zealand does NOT use 24 hour time - and my region settings in Windows are set correctly for 12 hour time, and 12 hour time is what is displayed on the Windows clock.

So why is it changing it to 24 hour time ? And anyway, why bother to have a 12/24 hour time setting in the ipod touch user interface if itunes is going to override it every time you sync ???

Furthermore our daylight savings time start and stop dates have changed this year (daylight savings started a week earlier) and even though Windows changed correctly on the new date, (thanks to an update through windows update) iTunes kept changing the ipods time back to the incorrect time (one hour earlier) despite the correct time being displayed on the PC - clearly iTunes is using an inbuilt daylight savings lookup list which has NOT been updated, rather than using the one built into Windows. Argh...

Extremely frustrating having the time thrown out by one hour every time I sync, with no way to prevent it. Luckily the "old" daylight savings changeover date has now passed so syncing to itunes is no longer setting the time incorrectly, but it IS still changing it back to 24 hour time.

Any suggestions ?
