The right screw driver

According to the MacBook manual it states that it's needed to use a 1.5 Phillips screw driver to open the Macbook's RAM. But I've heard that a 1 is recommended to unscrew when my brother was having trouble opening up his MacBook Pro with a 1.5 screw driver.

I just got two Corsair 1GB RAM and I'm wondering if those are good compared to the Apple branded ones.

Hi,

I would try with the smaller one first, and if it won't work, then try with slightly bigger one.
Be gentle and careful not to wear off the screw head.

And Corsair is a good brand too, as long as you buy one within apple / macbook specs and the re-seller put macbook in their compatibility list, it should work just fine.

There are some inconsistencies throughout the documentation about the size of the phillips screwdriver to be used on thr RAM Door. One manual will state a #1, another a #0 and yet another a #00. I've found that the #0 works the best and it is the average of the sizes.
Remember that the screws are to be loosened and not to be removed completely.
