MacBook Pro just shuts off after 1.3 Battery Update.

My MacBook Pro just shuts off after 1.3 Battery Update.
It is random and very annoying. Has anyone else have this problem?

Just got my 17"mbp back from apple, was running 10.4.9.
They updated to 10.4.10, replaced logic board, new battery, and some other minor cosmetic fixes.
They said my battery was "overcharging" and thus fried the logic board. So her i am with my new mbp, but alas!, when i notice the battery at about 15% i plug in the adaptor and my mbp proceeds to shut down! It will not reboot as long as the adapter is plugged in.
This seem just the opposite of what everyone else is experiencing. I zapped pram, reset smc, and all that. It worked for one day, as i just finished working on an iphoto project, my battery went down to 20% and i plugged in the adapter, and poof, off went the mbp. I have a secend battery but wanted to see if you all had any input b4 i put it in. Am typing while plugged in but no battery installed. As soon as i put in the battery, off it goes. Called apple on monday when it first happened, and all seemed ok after the pram and smc reset. But now here we go again! will be on hold for applecare for another 30 minutes!!! tia

Problem fixed with a new battery. I had a great experience with Apple... called them; they walked me through a few basic questions to confirm that it fit into the battery recall. I gave them my CC to guarantee the return of the old battery; they shipped a new one that arrived 1 1/2 days later. Cool.... Notified that they received my returned batter, so no charge to my card.

I've had the battery almost a week now - I've run it all the way down twice (once in Mac OS and once in Vista) and all seems to run fine.

Unfortunately my situation was not resolved this well.

I have a MBP that I bought about 14 months ago and ever since the battery update I have had battery problems. Leaving the computer unplugged will cause it to shut off without warning with a reported remaining charge of about 65%.

I called support and was apparently not qualified for a replacement battery even though my cycle count is low at 82. Normally if this seemed like a fluke issue then I might cough up the $100+ dollars for a new battery, however since many people have had this issue I don't think it is one. I'm a little saddened that I had to pay $2000 for a computer and due to what is very likely a manufacturer's software issue I have to pay more. =(

I too have the same problem. Computer would go dead at %70 like clockwork. I tried all the other fixes with no luck. I called apple care canada and explained the issue. I bought my system in Oct. 2006 and do not have applecare. They where going to charge me for one month of applecare to deal with the issue, but I referenced the the Battery Update 1.2 link that someone else referenced in this thread. In it, it specifically requests you to contact apple if you battery has any of the issues listed. Mine did (cycles at 100)

After a short wait on hold, she asked me to outline the issues I had been having. I explained that after Battery update 1.3, my computer would die at %70 every time. I started to go into all the fix attempts, but she said that it was enough. She then took my info and said she would send me a new battery. I also had to leave CC# to ensure that I returned the battery. Very pleasant with no resistance!

Call them!

I have not received the battery yet. I will post when I do to see if it fixes it.

Good Luck!
