I was in Von's (Super Market chain in California) last night and I just decided to pull out my IPT just to see if they had a Wi-Fi network and lo and behold, they have FREE WIFI for shoppers...A Vons login page loaded and all I had to do was press "login" and I was on the net...unrestricted...pretty cool... 8-)
PowerBook G4 Firewire800,
Mac OS X (10.4.10),
2G memory
It was pretty cool but I find it odd that there were no signs letting shoppers know about it...maybe it is very new or just in testing stages...anyway, needless to say several people commented on my IPT and marveled at the WiFi capabilities...
Needless to say I will be shopping at Vons more often...I'm sure my S/O will be wondering why I am volunteering to do the grocery shopping for her...LOL
Well, it was clearly marked as a Vons page for Vons Shoppers...it had "helpful shopping hints" and told of new "Von's Club" offers...it may however be a beta, because I asked a few employees and they had no idea abut it...
As harsh as this may be, did you actually expect an employee to know something about it? Seriously, employees are usually the least informed people anywhere when changes happen.
