The iPod nano (2nd gen) does not support video. The processor is not strong enough, along with other things.

Also, do not try iPod Linux, even though you might hear that its awesome.

1. Even iPod Linux does not support iPod nano downloads.
2. Voids any Warranty you have on your iPod.
3. Not unusual for it to leave your iPod as a large domino, and with no warranty, you're out of luck.
4. Is it really worth it to watch video on a 1.5 inch screen?
5. Video takes up a lot of space, and iPod nanos don't have much to spare.

I hope this helps!

i just read that no support is given for 1st gen nanos and 5 gen videos. if i wait for them to release a version which does support them will that be fine or is it still way too risky? i dont want it to watch movies (that is why i hav a video ipod) but you can have some cool apps and games on there. if it screws up is that the end or can i get it fixed?

thanx for that other post it could have just saved my ipods. 🙂

if it does turn it into a brick, can i take it to apple and pay to have it fixed or is that the end?

It's the end (at least as far as Apple are concerned).

See this.
