Why does my wallpaper look blocky?

When I try to use a picture (whether from the internet or a digital camera), it appears all blocky as my wallpaper. Also, when I try to take pictures off the internet and put them into iPhoto, it does the same thing. Answers anyone?

Hey danjenski and welcome to the forum -

I'm wondering if you have your Wallpaper Preferences set to Tile. You can check by going to System Preferences/Desktop & Screen Saver and then the Wallpaper Tab. Under the file name in the wallpaper preview is a drop-down that you can set to Fill Screen, Stretch to Fill Screen, Center, and Tile. If it's on Tile, it could have a "blocky" look.
