Download stops and I get err = 8008

I purchased the TV Show "Fallen" and I've tried 5x's to download it. I've clicked "Checked Purchases" as iTunes advised, and still can't download the entire show. The error message says stopped (err=8008)

What can I do? Will it fix itself?

When you say it keeps happening, are you saying that after it fails, you remove the corrupted partial download, the download starts again from 0%, and it progresses to another point before it fails? Many people are deleting the file from iTunes and assuming that it removes the corrupted file. It doesn't. If the file keeps failing at the same point, you may not be deleting the file. See instructions above in this thread for removing it and restarting.

If you are deleting the file correctly, then the root cause of this is an interrupted download. Are you downloading the files wirelessly? Or is your internet connection a bit flaky? Test your connection with a broadband speedtest site (like http://www.speedtest.net/) and post your results here. If everything looks okay, then I'd scan your computer for viruses / spyware to make sure you aren't losing CPU cycles that could be interrupting your connection (e.g. being part of a botnet). Good luck!

Are you saying you have some files in your Download directory but they don't look like Chuck? Your iTunes download directory should generally be empty unless you are in the middle of some downloads, so I would verify that you are indeed in:

C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music
\Downloads>

And erase all the files that are in there. Once the files are gone, go back into iTunes, select "Check for Purchases", and the files will start to redownload from the beginning. Good luck! I've also become a fan of Chuck--and Yvonne Strahovski. 🙂

Strange. Your connection appears more than fast enough to download a large movie, so about the only thing else I can suggest is to try and download your movie on another computer. If it works, you can sync it to your iPod, bring it back to your machine, and resync it back to your PC. That would at least point to an issue with either your connection or your PC as potentially causing an issue, although I'm stumped for what that might be. If you figure it out, it would be great if you posted your finding here so we can all be on the lookout for the issue you are seeing. Good luck!

I have a song that got aborted mid download because I had to click my approval of a new Terms of Service. The song never appeared in my "Purchased" playlist. Per the suggestions in this thread I deleted the temp download from the itunes download folder. But when I check for purchases it says all purchases have downloaded. Any ideas?
