Podcasts won't work with iPod Touch!

I tried to manually put my podcasts onto my iPod which worked, but when I went to play them, they were no where to be found, but were still still taking up space on the hard drive! The podcasts (Hospital Records Podcast) are mostly in AAC format. So I how can I make them work with my iPod Touch?

I'm having the same problem. The replies are meant to be helpful, but we've done all that. I have 14.59 GB free on my iPod Touch (software version 1.1.2). The device is plugged in and shows in iTunes (7.5 [19]). I've selected the iPod and clicked the Poscasts tab. I've checked Sync and chosen all episodes of all podcasts. I have 200 podcasts in iTunes. A random 12 download to the iPod when I click Apply and Sync.

There's a definite bug here. Can iTunes and the iPod be tricked by syncing to a playlist of all my podcasts? That's my next strategy, since the main sync simply doesn't work.

Tanner,

OK, I figured out why I was having your problem. I hope this will also work for you. I had done all the right stuff on the Podcast tab, but on my summary tab I had checked "sync only checked songs and videos." That turns out to be a master selection, overriding (or more precisely, limiting) the selections you make on the Music, Movie, TV Shows, and Podcasts tabs. Because I had made that master selection on the Summary tab I was only getting the podcasts that were marked with a little check in my iTunes Podcasts list. When I unchecked the Summary item the Podcast tab instructions behaved as I wished and all my podcasts were downloaded to the iPod.

You can also do this with a smartlist that collects your podcasts, but then the iPod lists each podcast episode alphabetically by title. I think it's more convenient to use the Podcasts tab. Then the Touch shows the podcasts grouped by podcast provider.

Cheers,
Jeff

I'm not doubting at all that there's a bug here, because I'm having the same problem. iTunes is refusing to sync a whole bunch of my podcasts that are on my computer to my iPod Touch.

In the "Podcast" part that refers to locally, like in my iTunes, it says 27, but on my iPod Touch even after trying to sync it only says 11.

It doesn't make sense.
