Connection problem with router Netgear DG834G

Dear all,
i have seriours connection problem with my netgear router. It works correctly with linux and windows, but with my macbook often i get error when it tries to connect.
System log messages say

Oct 12 08:48:26 pcmax03 /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Apple80211.framework/Resources/airport: Error: WirelessAssociate2() = 88001006 for network NETGEAR. The operation timed out.

Please if someone knows how to solve it, it's a very annoying problem ! God i choose a mac to not have anymore this type of problems ....

I have had exactly the same problem. We found that a G4 was okay, but a MacBook (2 months old) and MacBook Pro (1 day old) were having problems.

The newer machines have a 802.11/B/G/N interface, and the router is just B/G. For some reason this causes issues, unless: you update the firmware on the router.

I did this last night (series 1 DSG834G), and my Mac connected instantly. I tried it again this morning and it was okay. So fingers crossed on this one.

Interestingly, my iPod Touch is perfect, not a quibble. According to Apple it only has B/G... Same for Nintendo Wii and my IBM Thinkpad... Hence only the Macs with the faster interface have an issue.

Give it a whirl. If it turns out not to work, I'll update.
