Firewire not working on Macbook!

I have a Macbook. This is the first time I want to capture a movie but it does not recognize the camera via firewire. I did check with a HD external, the same result, nothing happened. I did reset PRAM & SMC without any success. I did run hardware test, nothing reported as failed.

Do you have any idea?
