Nightmare.

I bought my IPhone at the end of Sept and everything was great. I started having problems yesterday when I plugged my phone into the wall charger w/o the base. The not made for IPhone message came up and then the screen started to flicker and flip out on me and then white text with black background. The two things that I remember seeing was panic mode and kernal. After several attempts to get phone on the charger it went blank. I then did the reset with holding both buttons and it came alive. I charged phone and though it was fine, after taking phone off charger thats when it started. First the phone would reboot only when I put it in sleep mode over and over on it's own. Then safari would open and display black background and go back to home screen. The home button would not wake phone, only way to turn on was both button reset. Time was one hour off from the real time, checked world clock and that was correct. Screen was displaying pixels at different places. I then did master reset while talking to the rep at Apple this made the rebooting problem less frequent, but still not back to normal. They were stumped by the text popping up displaying dos like commands, and all the other issues. The rep ask if I did update, I said that is when the phone freaked out. They said to take it to an Apple store and send it in for repair. I drove to the Apple Store in Madison, WI and after 10 minutes the saleman grabbed a new phone and I was on my way. I was glad, no rental phone and no waitng for repair. New phone works like a new one. I have not done 1.1.1 upgrade and won't if I can hold off. Anyone else have these issues?

That is what the Apple support rep was thinking, he also said that some issues are known with 1.1.1 but still stumped that a page full of computer text appeared, except the part of the panic mode I got the impression that he has some knowledge of this. Also for anyone else that may view my issue and want to ask the question. My phone was never modified, hacked, or messed with at all.
