Sony HDR FX1

I have a Sony HDV camcorder Fx1 and I cannot capture into FCP.
FCP starts up correctly and obviously recognizes the camera, but nothing is capturing.
FCP reports that there is no video and must be in VTR mode, but it is
I have HDV 1050i setup in the video settings, but still cannot capture. Any help please?

G5 1.8 Ghz, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

I have this camera and it switches from DV to HDV. It's possible that you have the camera settings set for DV and HDV. If your camera is set to DV, then change the settings in "Menu" at the back of the camera.
Once in the menu scroll down to in/out rec and set "HDV" in VCR HDV/DV, that should cure your problem.

Also check in easy setup that you have HD format and setup HDV 1080i

I just got this camera and haven't fully got to grips with it yet and even read carefully through the manual and still missed this one, thanks for the help.
