Just purchased 4 tracks over the wi-fi link and after thestore said they would be delivered in highest quality I clicked ok and that was the end of it --- No songs appeared in my Touch's download window' nor in my music library on the Touch. What happened and how do I complete the download?
Intel Imac 2.1 GHz - 20",
Mac OS X (10.4.8),

The week number is part of the serial number on the back (below the 8GB / 16GB mark) - so for example, is my serial number is 9C737ABCD8H then the week number is 37 - i.e. the week number appears after the 9C7 in the serial number.
I'm in the UK and have a UK iTunes account.
I have bought albums and singles without any trouble at all using my iPod touch.
I have bought them at home (just to try it), at the Apple Store (on the free internet) and at work. It worked everytime for me.
Hello everybody,
Same poroblem here works fine on the computer but not using the ipod touch. Are we concluding that ipods purcased in the US are not going to work here. (Mine was bought in the US a few weeks ago). Surely they should download everywhere. I can surf the internet fine with it, just cannot purchase a song which, defeats the whole idea of it. I can't belive apple would not want us to purchase songs!!
Many thanks,
Paul.
Just discovered something. The song i was trying to download that would not download was a Duran Duran track. I have now tried a Police track Russians and that as worked fine, (which is typical I did'nt want it). Currantly on hold on the phone been 20 mins already to apple support at great expense. I will update if I get an answer.
Paul.
Just to add some more substance to Paul's thread above, I too have successfully downloaded one track (from the UK), but now it seems I can no longer do this!
Whatever the sync problem is with the itunes server I am sure the next ipod touch update will rectify this problem, and any other bugs. Here's hoping it is soon for everyone's benefit.
Update.
Eventually got off the phone from apple support. They informed me that the answer is with itunes. Apparently there is a question form we can fill in on their site which they will then respond to within 24 hours. Problem is I can't find it. if anybody can send me a link to this form I have a reference number from apple to quote them in order that they can sort the problem out. Apple were suppose to send me the link in an e-mail but it as not arrived yet.
Paul.
P.S. They were very helpful and wanted to sort the problem out as it should not be happening.
Good for you for this initiative. Keep the group here posted, will you, and if I stumble across such a link I shall post it here...... - Mike, Ottawa CANADA
If you go into the iTunes Store, go to your Account Information, and click on Purchase History, there is a "Report a Problem" button. However, it forces you to report the problem against one of the purchases in your history, and these failed WiFi Store purchases don't show up in history (Hopefully that means I'm not paying for them!).
I have exactly the same problem with my iPhone in the US. Yesterday I successfully purchased a DRM track via WiFi. Today I tried several times for an iTunes Plus track and it never downloaded just like people have described in this thread.
Might have figured this out...I gave up trying to download a song via the WiFi Store after having the same experience described in this thread and went to do it in iTunes on my Mac. When I clicked to purchase, I was presented with a new terms of service agreement that I had to accept. After accepting, it told me to try my purchase again. Aha!, I said to myself, and went back to the iPhone and successfully completed the purchase via the WiFi Store.
That worked for me. Looks like it's a bug / issue with iTunes store that they'll need to sort out...
Just to recap :
1. Go into iTunes on your PC, and attempt to buy an iTunes Plus song from there.
2. You'll get a new terms and conditions to agree to.
3. Once you agree, it'll tell you to try and download again.
4. You can now download from your iPhone (I guess 🙂 ) and your iPod Touch (which is what I did)
Excellent. Thanks so much for all the help guys - really appreciated it!
Just posted the report today, so I will let you all know when I get a reply. However hopefully looks like you may have sorted it out. So that I may try it as well, can someone please tell me what an itunes plus song is so that I can obtain a new terms and conditions contract.
I'm not very up on this, I'm trying to sort it out for my daughter.
Many thanks,
Paul.
An iTunes Plus song is one without the DRM (Digital Rights Management) restrictions on it.
You can tell if a song is going to be delivered to you in iTunes Plus format if it has a plus sign âž• beside the price in the iTunes list.
An example would be the "Hope" album by Foy Vance (you can search for Foy in iTunes).
My advice would be to go an try and buy a song from the album. It then will take you to a screen to accept the new Terms and Conditions for iTunes Plus, and then prompt you to attempt to purchase the song again (i.e. if you go and try to buy a Foy Vance song (which she probably wouldn't want 🙂 ), then you don't actually have to go and actually purchase it - just getting to and accepting the new Ts&Cs is enough to get you past the problem that you're having.
If you haven't a clue what I'm going on about here, let me know and I can give you my IM address, or you can call me (I'm in the UK).
Absolutely fantastic, that as worked for me too, thanks for the instructions and well done Jim!!
I'll post the reply, when I get one from itunes so you can all see what they have to say.
Many thanks to everybody I'm like a pig in the proverbial now!!
Paul.
I noticed this also. The album purchased successfully on my mac only after agreeing to new terms and conditions. I will try a purchase an album via my touch next time to see if this is solved
