Can't make purchases, network connection was reset??

I am having the same issue. I have been trying to download the Carrie Underwood CD for the past hour and continue to get that exact same message. If anyone knows how to fix please let us know!!

ive been trying too... apple must be screwing around with something..... probably another update.... who knows...... it gets a bit frustrating....!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's a general problem, as I've been trying to change account details for the last few days, and all I get is error messages. Now I can't even connect to my account at all, as it says 'network connection was reset' whenever I try to log in. I can't help you, but you might be comforted in knowing that the problem seems to be more general.

yep, i've been hearing alot about it recently. hopefully fixed soon, today is tuesday and some new albums come out...

This is rediculous... can't download a movie I was hoping to grab before a flight. And we're paying how much for this service??? Goodbye iTunes, hello allofmp3.com and other sources.

Yes, I was able to Download music last night now today it's telling
me to check my network connection and try again.... sigh, my
connection is fine...98880/2577 Connection speed and all other
programs working fine that are internet related.

Apple has done something in that last update that screwed up the
download...I seen there was an update just before I went to bed,
I download it, rebooted and went to bed...Today I cannot download
anything at all from iTunes...All of my Apple software is up-to-date.

dang it! Me too.
I'm about to walk out the door for a week and hop on a plane... and I need something to listen to and some movies to watch... grrrr
I even preordered a CD and I can't get it, i get the same connection problem when I 'check for purchases'
I hope they fix this soon.. VERY soon!!!!

Same thing here:( Thank god for these message boards because a quick search and finding this thread at least told me it is not my mac or internet connection since it is happening to others.

I just heard a cool artist on a podcast this morning while working and went to the store to check it out. It was the "plus" version, (I only buy DRM 256 tunes), and iTunes would not take my cash. There is $9.99 still in my pocket instead of apples..... No time to go to the store to buy it and I felt like some new tunes to work to today, oh well...

As of noon, still not fixed. Running the latest update to iTunes, but it's probably a server/networking thing on Apple's end.

I seen someone said they signed out of their account on the site as
well as the player...

This fix did not work, I cannot even sign out or into iTunes.
All I can do is open it, play already Imported and downloaded
stuff. I can also play previews, Radio and all that, but if I want to buy
something...I get the network deal.

Wonder how much cash apple is losing in profit during this downtime?

Everyone is having the same problem. It's the iTunes Store, not iTunes. If you click on the forgot password link when logging in, the server connection bottoms out.

iTunes 7.4.2 says "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection was reset. Make sure your network connection is active and try again."

iTunes 7.2 says "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. (5555). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."

iTunes 7.2 just sounds way nicer. It's not my fault.

I have the same problem with the new download. Anyone know how long it's going to take to fix? This is ridiculous, I just bought an iPhone and now can't get any ringtones.

It is working now for me, just bought an album.
