Can't make purchases, network connection was reset??

I have no idea how to fix this one. Everything was fine.... I went to download a song and I got the message that my network connection was reset and it coudn't complete my request. I restarted the program... no such luck. Anyone know what's going on?? Thank you in advance to anyone that can help me out!!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

I think it's a general problem, as I've been trying to change account details for the last few days, and all I get is error messages. Now I can't even connect to my account at all, as it says 'network connection was reset' whenever I try to log in. I can't help you, but you might be comforted in knowing that the problem seems to be more general.

Yes, I was able to Download music last night now today it's telling
me to check my network connection and try again.... sigh, my
connection is fine...98880/2577 Connection speed and all other
programs working fine that are internet related.

Apple has done something in that last update that screwed up the
download...I seen there was an update just before I went to bed,
I download it, rebooted and went to bed...Today I cannot download
anything at all from iTunes...All of my Apple software is up-to-date.

Same thing here:( Thank god for these message boards because a quick search and finding this thread at least told me it is not my mac or internet connection since it is happening to others.

I just heard a cool artist on a podcast this morning while working and went to the store to check it out. It was the "plus" version, (I only buy DRM 256 tunes), and iTunes would not take my cash. There is $9.99 still in my pocket instead of apples..... No time to go to the store to buy it and I felt like some new tunes to work to today, oh well...

Just posted this in other thread too...

Everyone is having the same problem. It's the iTunes Store, not iTunes. If you click on the forgot password link when logging in, the server connection bottoms out.

iTunes 7.4.2 says "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection was reset. Make sure your network connection is active and try again."

iTunes 7.2 says "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. (5555). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."

iTunes 7.2 just sounds way nicer. It's not my fault.
