Dvd's won't mount

I read a lot of post about this problem and nothing seems to be resolving.
My superdrive (a pioneer 106d) refuse to mount the dvd-r it just burnt but I can read them on my old titanium. On the g5 the superdrive works well with dvd-rw, cd-r, and with older backup I made on dvd-r (2-3 months ago). And I use different brand of dvd.
If someone of Apple can wake-up and tell us (a lot of people on the net) what's happen and, maybe, if there is a solution, it will be great.

There seems to be so many variables for this problem but in another twist , we realised our DVD-R supplier had sent us a different type of disk with out us realising.

We were using a Imation DVD-R x8 speed but the new order of Imation disks are now x16 compatible.

We have been out to the shops and found some sony DVD-R x8 compatible and these seem to be work.

Please post if anyone else tries this and has the same result.

My DVD drive is MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-825
Revision: DBN7 Drive Type: CD-RW/DVD-RW
and I am having same problem mounting DVD's. I have some that I burned, and a couple from a friend that mount and play fine.

One, a DataWare DVD-R 8x, and a couple of other no names, will not mount. I downloaded PowerMacSuperDriveUpdate 1.0 but it said it could not install.

Would this be because of the drive type being DVD-RW. Does that mean it won't mount a DVD-R?
