Cover Flow Blurry

I have 4 gigs of Ram and coverflow is pixelated.

how do you delete thumbnails?

Has anyone noticed certain icons being cropped at the bottom? or alligned differently?

A thumbnail is nothing more than a custom icon. To delete an individual icon, click on the file in the Finder and choose Get Info. Then click on the icon and hit Delete.

Or, because these are all images, we can cheat with a Terminal command. (Note that this will strip the file of custom icons (hooray!), Spotlight comments, and possibly EXIF data. If those are meaningful, seek another course of action.)

/Applications/Utilities/Terminal. Type in these two commands:

cd /replace this_with_thepath/to/your/files

For example, if your files are in your Pictures folder, type:

cd /Users/your-short-name/Pictures

Then:

sips -rotate 360 *

Sit back, and all of the custom icons will be stripped from every JPEG and GIF image in the folder.

Most likely its because you have small icon thumbnails, remove them, and youll have sweet coverflow images.
What bugs me is how slow it renders things sometimes, and with quicklook, it makes multipage documents one long page while in coverflow you can flick through pages. weird.

The other problem with this is that it completely strips the Photoshop generated thumbnail and all Photoshop documents have only the PS logo as their icon and no longer have a preview of the picture. Seems to me, as somebody stated earlier, that Coverflow should work on its own system all-together and not rely on thumbnails that were previously created by another program. There's a bit of work to be done here for it to be really effective and beautiful like Apple products usually are.

Your right that works Blackwhale. I wondering how I can do this to an entire folder. I tried what the person above you "SignOfZeta " suggested with Terminal, but not being terminal savvy I couldn't get that to work.

Any other suggestions of how to get rid of many thumbnails at once?

I found a solution but it works only on non intel macs.
THere is a program called Quickimage and it is a contextual menu item.
After you install it, use google to find it, select remove icon.
Then it will work in coverflow! It removes the old icon.

Maybe it's not a good solution after all. Now I can see the images clearly in coverflow but the icons on the desktop are gone. If I use show icon with Quickimage the image in coverflow gets blurry again.
Thought I figured it out but no.
