Secure Empty Trash hangs

After installing Leopard, I relaunched Finder. Now when I go to Secure Empty Trash it hangs with 4 untrashed items. Is there another way, eg from the command line, I can empty these items? (Empty Trash works normally)

If I do use the command line, what command do I use?

For my information, where-abouts in the file system, is the Trash located?

Same problems as above. It seems to be related to Time Machine, Verify and Repair Permissions, and to External Hard Drives. Some of the effects seem to be random enough at times that they can't all be repeated exactly.

I've talked to Apple Support a few hours over two sessions. The first session a fellow in Manila told me it was possibly my Time Machine hard drive. I got the impression that he knew what was going on but that his hands were tied and he had to tow the Apple line by not giving the specifics.

On the second session a technician from Sacramento was trying to tell me that my machine was too old, even though it fits the Apple designated requirements for Leopard. I got he impression he was flat out lying; basically lip locking Apple's sphincter with relish, hoping for one more sale. His direct advice was to reload Leopard, which I did to no avail.

There is definitely a bug, and Apple seems to be denying the problem. It must be a serious bug, or it is related to other very serious problems with Leopard.
