AirPort doesn't connect after wakeup

When I wake up my computer from sleep, AirPort won't connect to my known wifi network it was connected before the computer went to sleep.

This only affects standard user, with admin users it isn't a problem.

Workaround: I turn AirPort off and on again, than it works.

iBook G4, Mac OS X (10.5), 1.5 GB RAM, 120 GB HD

If you're having the problem constantly, it may be a Network preferences or Keychain issue.
Try deleting your network from your list of preferred networks and adding it back.

Thanks, but I have already tried more or less everything without success. Including deleting keychain entry, airport connection in Network preferences, preferred networks list, etc...
😟
This thing really bugs me, especially considering that I am using a brand new machine. I wonder how they test the software...

I know you're frustrated, but at the same time I very rarely see the problem and have never seen the problem occur on systems at Apple Stores, so it's not quite as simple as being broken in all cases, every time for everyone. There's something very subtle at play and unfortunately you seem to be a victim of whatever it may be.

you are right, but I do not think that at Apple stores they put the machines to sleep during the day, so the problem is not evident... and BTW, I have an Airport Extreme and a MacBook Pro, so a 100% Apple situation. I only hope that a fix can be found. Is there a way to post a bug report?

Yes, I've tried putting their machines to sleep and waking them up to see if I can cause the dissociation problem without success.

There are two ways to file a bug report:

1) If your machine is still under warranty or is covered by AppleCare, or you purchased Leopard 90 days or less ago, you can file a bug with AppleCare.

2) If you have an ADC Membership (even a free ADC Online membership), you can login to and file a bug via the Apple Bug Reporter.
