iChat no longer connecting to Jabber server after Leopard upgrade

Just upgraded to Leopard yesterday, and the only significant glitch I notice so far is that iChat is now getting stuck in the "Connecting..." step when I try to get onto our Jabber server (which was working fine before the upgrade). Am now getting a "untrusted certificate" message now, which I also didn't get before, but I can continue and it does try to connect but gets stuck in doing so every time.

Have tried tweaking the jabber account server settings, but to no avail.

Sound familiar to anyone?

Cheers.

I had the same problem. As I recall, when you click on the "untrusted certificate" there is an option to "allow anyway" or "always trust" or something like that. After I clicked on that option, it connected. It would not connect if I just hit continue.

none of the above solutions resolved anything for me. unfortunately, an OS X server, so the hack won't work for me. I've deleted & recreated my jabber account, as well as turned SSL on and off... all to no avail. A response from the Apple team would be greatly appreciated from people like me who use jabber to communicate with my clients on a daily basis. This is forcing me to use an 3rd party app like Adium (boo...) until it is resolved.

At 10.5.1 remove any app in the Mac Firewall in the Specific Apps and service if they were added before the 10.5.1 update.
Set the Firewall to Allow All.
Set it back to Specifics and Add iChat again

In iChat > Preferences > Accounts > Server Settings make sure the Jabber accounts are set to Discover Server and Port Automatically.

Also the iChat Server and Google both use port 5223 to login.
The above should make sure iChat gets through the Mac Firewall but the port will need to be opened in any routing device.
