Stupid ? of the day - How to right click mouse?

This is going to be the stupidist and easiest question to answer on these forums today. I am used to using a PC and just switched over to Mac. How do I perform right click actions on the Apple mouse, things such as highlighting and copy and pasting etc. I thought I just held down the "control" buttom to get right click options. It's not working, neither is any other key I try. The key board is working though.

I told you it was a stupid question, but I still need it answered. Thanks.

Flophouse,

It is not a stupid question.
Each operating system has its own idiosyncrasies.

The easiest solution is as others have said: buy a 2-button mouse.
I really like my Logitch MX700 cordless mouse. (Note: right-handed only)

P.S. In 1989, I encountered my first Mac. I had to ask a co-worker how to turn it on. I looked everywhere for the "0/1 switch" that every PC had. I mean everywhere. I turned the Mac upside down looking for that switch. My co-worker laughed at me when they showed me how to hit the power button on the keyboard.

Actually, I hate the idea of control-clicking, using more than one hand for a specific click seems to waste cumulative seconds of my life, so I bought a four-button trackball. ^^

I must agree, though, on one point. Apple's Mighty Mouse is a great idea and a great value, so if you're a switcher used to the right-clicking, go ahead and buy the Mighty Mouse. It's definitely worth it. 🙂
