Another Leopard Problem - Front Row & Airport Express/Airtunes

Just upgraded to Leopard.....

Now Front Row won't stream music through my Airport Express to remote speakers, although itunes will. What's going on and how do I fix this?

Using Front Row as a an interface for itunes streaming music wireless through my airport express connected to my hi-fi and distributing into to speakers in different rooms as an extremely vital function from my computer to have. It would be disgraceful if this functionality is not available in Leopard.

macBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5)

Airfoil will solve the problem. Only, it will not relieve you of having to tap a few things before using Front Row and your remote. All you have to do is;
enable "Instant hijack" in Airfoil and then go to the menu ( applications ) and select "Front Row" in the shown menu. That should do it.
only thing is that you dont get the "real Front row" feel.

At first glance with the Apple Express, it was nice, handy, and the audio jack for wireless apps was good so I did get one, but after reading some threads ang knowing that it will not work with frontrow without using airfoil, I'm really disappointed.... I think it's not justified to get a 3rd party application just for frontrow to work with airtunes. If only I knew it would only work with itunes, honestly I would have just stick to the old plug and play. Now where's the innovation on that!.

Same here - serious issues with Front Row photo slideshows. I select the menu, then hit a photo slideshow. it's jerky and jumpy. I then cannot pause or play it, or skip forward and backward. Well - I kinda can, but there is a delay of about 5 seconds, and all is a bit random. and there is no indication if you are skipping forward or are on play or anything.

Haven't tried movie playback. but this is quite annoying.

Good lord, what a screw-up this is. 10.6.2 and Front Row 2.2.1 (314). What a mess! Cruising right along and streaming from iTunes just fine. What good is it to have the MBP remote when frontrow behaves like this? iTunes STOPS what it's playing only to start up your same "iTunes Library" but this time, NOT in the same place it left off.

Yes, Snow Leopard, 7200rpm drive, 4GB-RAM, and the front row is less than it was with Tiger?

Apple, please tell me there is some completely random and unjustified answer to this horrible OVERSIGHT! So, REALLY, what again is the point of having an Airport Express again??? Don't tell me, it's a ploy to get me to create more playlists or have to interrupt the party to reconfigure itunes??? PLEASE!

So, let's recap,

1. what's the point of the MBP remote without FrontRow?
2. what's the point of an Airport express when I have a MBP???

ans: NOT too much, when the software doesn't link together! Sorry to be so facetious.

APPLE, PLEASE FIX FRONTROW SO THAT IT IS AIRPORT COMPATIBLE!!!

Purchased an Airport Express yesterday, hooked it up to my stereo and tried to stream music via Frontrow from my trusty old iMac G4... As you all know: That's a "no go". Unbelievable!!!
I didn't even think to check on whether or not this would work. This is Apple software refusing to work with Apple hardware. Something that used to work just fine in the 1.x release of Frontrow and was, for whatever reason, removed.
Frontrow is supposed to make it easier to access one's media library - and Apple intentionally (?) sabotaged this?!?! I can only assume this was done intentionally since this thread dates all the way back to 2007. And Snow Leopard still doesn't fix that?!

I'm returning the Airport Express tomorrow. Come on, Apple! How about an official word on this issue after two years of this issue???

Cheers,

Andre
