Ethernet Settings: Full Duplex and Half Duplex
In 10.5, we find that if we use these settings, the ethernet connection drops, and we get a message saying it is unplugged. We end up using the 100baseTX, half duplex setting--it's the only way it will connect. When we connect to the Windows shares using these settings, we get a very slow file transfer. The wheel turns and spins while the windows fill up---and even just viewing the files is almost at a standstill. From experience here in the past, we recognize this as a problem with the duplex settings.
The Mac is shutting off our ethernet connection at 100Base T, full duplex. We need it...is there a way to get this to work? Is it a bug?
