GarageBand '08 version 4.1 won't open. It tries then quits unexpectedly.

i've tried everything i can think of and have researched, but garageband will not open. it just initializes for awhile and then a window comes up reading, "the application garageband quit unexpectedly." all the other iLife applications work fine. i've reinstalled garageband a couple of times from my iLife '08 disk. i've deleted the preferences and disable the user fonts. repaired permissions... if you have any other tips, please help. thanks!

Heck yes. I've been trying to fix this problem with Live 7 and Leopard, and this thread nailed it on the head. I had the same problems with Garage Band (even though I don't use it) that were described, and it led me straight to the answer.

Be sure to look in /home/library/applications support

and find all the melodyne files. I had one in the parent directory and 2 in the propellerhead subdirectory. It didn't even take a restart.

I am, however, still trying to get melodyne 3.1 to work with live 7 if there are any thoughts.
