Analog desktop clock option disappeared in Leopard

The option to have a semi-transparent floating desktop clock seems to have disappeared in Leopard... Clicking on the purple ? in the Date/Time Preferences states: "To see a clock in the menu bar or on the desktop, select Show the date and time. Choose options for how the date and time are displayed. Your changes take effect immediately so you can see the results." No such option exists.

I really miss that clock on the desktop. I still glance down to the lower right-hand corner looking for the time and there is only a void. (SIGH)

My mind is graphic-oriented (rather than text or word-oriented) and I prefer the analog clock. The tiny analog clock in the menu bar just doesn't do anything for me and although I like the Dashboard features, it requires two mouse moves - one to show the clock and one to get rid of it.

Alas, a shortcoming found with the two freebies!

After a short trial I have discovered that neither clock works across Spaces. As an old X-Windows user (emphasis on the "old") I am reluctant to give up the Space feature. What to do, what to do? Forego the use of spaces and go back to a cluttered screen or live with a digital clock in the menu bar.

I think I'll bring in an actual, physical clock and put it on my desk. KISS seems to the the appropriate approach for this problem.

I miss the analog clock that you could put in the dock (it's from the same one that floats). Apple took this out in 10.4 so I had to use the clock.app. I think I could use this in 10.5 but then that would mean it would use extra resources as it's a PPC app and I don't like this idea. So, I wish that Apple would give us the analog clock back (and with the option to load it in the dock)

While we are on the subject of complaining about clocks, how about making it a little easier to see the analog clock in the menubar? This would be my clock of choice if I could see it without a magnifying glass.
