Screen Goes Black after a few minutes

After a few minutes of sitting idle my MacBook Pro's screen goes black. When you move the mouse the screen comes back to life, you see a bit of the screen saver, then it goes back to the desktop. If the computer is left to sit (until the screen is set to turn off) the sleep light will come on (steady, not pulsing). If the screen is set to never sleep, there is not issues.

How can I fix this, it's really annoying.

Ahhhh!!! This is driving me crazy now! I'm actually starting to sympathize with the "PC" in Apple's new commercials who "went back to XP." I'm this close to going back to Tiger!

I'm on a video chat (skype, sorry, it plays with windowz,) and my chat disappears!
I'm watching a training flash video for my company, and it disappears!
I'm showing someone a Numbers spreadsheet, and as I discuss details of a graph, it disapears!
I'm wanting to show friends my snazzy new screensaver, when my screen goes black before it gets a chance to appear!

Apple folks... Hello.... Come on, you top engineers don't have the top of the line notebook computer built by Apple? You aren't running the latest and greatest version of OSX? This isn't happening to you?!? It's not just the slightest bit annoying?!?

O.k. enough venting. I have found a temporary workaround, but still annoying in its own right... Download this little program, Caffeine. http://www.lightheadsw.com/
It solves the screen issue temporarily, but will still remind you Leopard and the MacBook Pro are flawed by the little icon in the menu bar.

Count me in with the same problem...I've redone sleep and screensaver preferences ad nauseam, with no effect. Screen sleeps when I'm still using the machine even! In an IM chat or browsing the Web, for example, where you might pause to read something for a minute or two. I have screen sleep set to 30 minutes.

My Santa Rosa MacBook Pro was purchased on Aug 30, and I had no problems in Tiger, through 10.4.11. Only on installing Leopard this past week did the problem arise. I did the Upgrade install, and had no other issues except for having to add back my printers and redo a few other preferences. I updated to 10.5.1 immediately upon installing Leopard.
