Directoryservices 190% CPU

Hello, hello,

I just installed Leopard, but now every now and then the CPU use goes up to 190% with a process called DirectoryServices. Forgive my ignorance but what's going on? Applications don't work after a few seconds and all I am left to do is force shut down the computer and re-start. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have the problem, and am not running Google Notifier.
One counterexample should be enough to rule that out.

There may be something else we do have in common.
Could we rule out any of:

iStat Pro, Skype, Little Snitch, bittorrent, CrossOver (expired), TinyAlarm, Growl, iAlertU?

My DirectoryServices cpu usage stays around 100%, never much more.
I think my problem is bittorrent.
Specifically Azureus 3.0.5.2
There may be other ways to set DirectoryServices off kilter.

I have been having this same problem intermittently as well and it was driving me nuts. On a whim, I uninstalled LogMeIn and my CPU utilization by DirectoryService instantly dropped from 20% to 0%. I cannot believe that it is a coincidence. I will track this and post back if I see any more problems in the future.

I've been having this issue ever since the upgrade to 10.5.3. But unlike the rest of you, I am running OS X server and rebooting every time it happens is not an option. I am rebooting at the end of every day, but it does not seem to be helping. Add my vote to Apple getting their *** in gear.
