AT&T Charging Deposit 5 months after the fact.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

I purchasd a iPhone at Launch at a AT&T Retail Store. I had them run my credit and was told No Deposit was required and got a Pre-Approval Check Number. So bought the iPhone went home and activated it. When hooked into iTunes and went through the Application Process I input the Pre-Approval Check Number and no point did it tell me a Deposit would be required... Now 5 Months after the fact AT&T added $750 my Bill and only 2 days to pay it. And they are refusing to fix the problem...

Is this even legal?

I didn't say nor think he has to take my advice - if you read all my posts in this thread, I indicated that I believe AT&T made a mistake and shouldn't have a leg to stand on and to contact a manager at AT&T customer service instead of trying to resolve this through a store. When information was provided that this had already been attempted without success, I made another suggestion to avoid having to pay a deposit. I'm not making him the victim but apparently he has poor credit or payment history or no credit so not paying the deposit which is way after the fact now - right wrong or indifferent certainly won't help his credit situation and is NOT the solution either.

I volunteer my time to offer help and suggestions here which someone can take or leave but when I ask someone for help and advice, I use the words please and thank you regardless how upset I may be. Being upset about a situation is no excuse and doesn't give anyone the right for not using common courtesy when asking others a question or for help/advice.

I have great credit, I have two $5,000 credit cards with only $400 on one of them, I have a $35,000 Loan with American Honda Finance I then have a $25,000 auto loan with Navy Federal Credit Union. I have a house, I run/own my own Business... The only reason they required a deposit the first time is because I have a "Credit Report Lock" so they can't even pull up my credit report I had to suspend the lock the second time thats why they said I was approved without a deposit and now they want one....... me about to swtich to T-Mobile
