Using my personal domain names on .mac

I'm using iWeb with my new .mac account to publish two websites. I already own two personal domain names through Yahoo Small Business, and have completed the transfer to .mac with the CNAME form. Now website #1 is "published" with .mac. At least it appears online when its URL is typed in, but I don't know for sure if Yahoo or .mac is hosting it yet.

Now I want to change this website with iWeb, and I want to create website #2 with my my other domain name #2. Very confusing! When I choose "New Site" in the file menu, create a new page, and publish it, up comes website #1. I don't even see my domain name #2 listed anywhere within iWeb or .mac.

All I want to accomplish is: use both my domain names to make websites within iWeb and publish to .mac as my host.

Please help.

Thank you,
Maria

Hi Maria,

nooooooooooo problem!

You have your url web.mac.com/name/sitename/

If you put web.mac.com/name/ in the browser then it gets redirected to web.mac.com/name/sitename/
It gets redirected to the site that is on the top of your iWeb. So sitename will be the same name displayed in your iWeb (the first site)
To find the second just type in the name of your second site instead of sitename.

And there are a lot of people who have multiple websites published to .Mac and having a personal domain linked to each of them. (I don't know how to do that because I don't have .Mac but other people on the forum will tell you, I'm sure. If they don't it this thread just have a new one called "multiple personal domains, how do I link them to different sites?" or so...).

Regards,
Cédric

I've just bought four new domain names and also want to publish them to four distinct sites, using iweb to build the sites

i've tried registering two CNAMEs at web.mac.com.but only the first one i mentioned seems to be showing up

from what i'm reading here it seems like i'm only going to be able to have one purchased domain name as top level at .mac, so presumably you can't buy extra space at .mac for hosting more than one site with a bespoke url?

I currently have three sites on .mac. each with it's own domain name.
I use godaddy for the domain names.
The only thing I do is go to godaddy, access my account, go to which ever domain name I need and forward it to the proper web.mac address.
I works just fine.
the .mac account will only show one domain name, but it has not affect on the domain names working.
When you publish a site that is not listed as the domain in .mac it will ask you if you want to visit the site and show the wrong domain.
This does not affect the proper name working. You just can't click "visit site now" from Iweb.
Hope that's not too confusing.
