Verizon Juke Music Transfer

I got the Verizon Juke but I can't seem to figure out how to transfer mp3s to the phone. I connect via the supplied USB cable, I can see the phone as a drive "telechips" for some reason. I copy the mp3s to the music folder, but after I disconnect nothing shows up in the music player on the phone. I've seen a few posts on other sites where people say it is simple just drag the files and it works. But it isn't working for me. Does anyone have this phone and made it work, or have any ideas about what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You're welcome. 🙂

I've updated the script on my site with a new one (crafted by Kronus_Voltaire from LiveJournal's macosxdev group) that is designed to be used as a folder action. Simply attach this folder action script to your TELECHIPS volume, and the script will run automatically. I have been using this for over a month now without any problems.

That link again:

I note I have not needed to use any organization scheme for my files; I just dump all my MP3 content into TELECHIPS/Music, and things work for me.

The Juke will not play or even recognize protected iTunes files. If you copy a protected itunes file "xxx.m4p" it will not show up on the phone display. It will take up space but will not be recognized. Music caqn be unprotected "xxx.m4a" or "xxx.mp3"

The plug connection at the phone is stiff and needs a firm push to make the connection.

The phone does not appear to recognize directories. I copied individual files and a directory containing several files with no apparent effect.

The information about artist, album etc. was missing or incomplete for some of the songs I copied.

I have not had problems adding or deleting songs from the iMac. That is, once the phone is connected to the iMac, adding or deleting music files from the "music" subdirectory of "telechips"

First of let me say that my 10 year old iMac is the most reliable machine I have ever had the pleasure of owning.

I was heavily considering getting a Juke. I'm currently texting and talking with an LG VX9800 "The V" I call it Brick. I also have a 1st generation 2 gig iPod Nano. My iPod is about to bite it. The battery lasts for about 2 hours, if I'm lucky.

I cannot afford to get a new Nano and I would really like to have a much smaller phone. And the idea of mashing my phone and MP3 player into one device makes me happy. Would this be a worth while investment for me?

Thanks, that worked for me when none of the other suggestions above did. I tried...

1) putting MP3 files directly in Music folder (no folders in Music)
2) removing spaces from file name of MP3 files
3) deleting .DS_Store and ._MySong.mp3 files that were created in Music folder
4) choosing Sync on phone before connecting

The only thing that worked was formatting as Mac OS Extended then putting the songs on the phone. I am able to play MP3 and AAC (MP4) files dragged directly out of iTunes.

I just bought a Juke yesterday.

I had the same problems that many others in this thread had - plugged it in once, worked fine, next time, no dice. I tried the partition thing, and I was confident that it had worked, but after plugging the Juke in for about the fourth time after the partition, it went back to zero everything.

It's quite frustrating, and I don't know if partitioning the device will harm it, but I just ran my third partition. Does anyone know why this keeps happening?

I'm helping my little cousin put music on his juke... well, at least that's what I'm trying to do. I've been having the same problem as everyone else - first time, synced perfectly, but when I tried to add more music, nothing. although, it still shows the files in the 'music' folder when connected to my macbook.

this seems to be the only available solution, however like I said, this is a favor for my cousin so its highly likely that he will be syncing from a pc at a later date. will this partition inhibit such transfers on a pc later?
