Upgraded to WD2500BEVS Hard drive, makes clicking noise..

Hey,

I recently upgrade my hard drive in my macbook to a WD 250GB SATA drive.

the problem I'm having is that every few seconds of inactivity the hard drive sounds like it 'parks' it's head.

The SMART status of the drive is verified.

Apparently this is the solution :

But I'm obviosoly on a mac running osx with no floppy drive, so does anyone know how to apply that patch? Thanks.

Am I missing something here? I can't get the declunk app to install. Here is what I get when I run install.command :

Copying launchd item to /Library/LaunchDeamons...
cp: declunk.plist: No such file or directory
Copying application to /usr/local/sbin...
cp: declunk: No such file or directory
Starting declunk...
Installation finished.

Just to chime in. I upgraded my MacBook to the same drive. Bought from BestBuy, installed on Saturday, fresh install of Tiger, been working it over extensively since because this post had me worried. Drive is completely silent, even more so than the original 80gb I pulled out. Here is its specs WDC WD2500BEVS-00UST0 Revision: 01.01A01. I know this doesn't help your situation much but wanted let you know the drive is functioning correctly with my configuration.

@ron21
Try this:
-create a folder on your Desktop and call it 'declunk' (without the quotes)
-copy all files from the "Declunk-1.0.dmg" to the declunk folder you created on your Desktop
-Start terminal and type: cd Desktop/declunk (type: 'ls -la' (wo the quotes) to check if you see all the Declunk files)
-type: 'sudo ./install.command' (again, wo the quotes and enter your password when prompted.
-This should work......
