how do i save a webpage as a jpeg?

i know that on PC's there's a print screen button which alows you to capture a whole webpage as an image file is this possible to do on a mac? I am currently using safari.

QuickTimeKirk's solution is the simplest, since it will capture the entire web page.

If you need a screenshot that preserves the layout precisely as it is seen in Safari, that's easily done with the keyboard shortcut Command-Shift-4. The cursor will change to a crosshairs icon. Tap the space bar and it will change to a camera icon. Click the camera-icon cursor in the window that you want to capture and the screenshot will be saved to your desktop as an image file.

However, if only part of the web page is visible in your browser window, the screenshot will only capture that part, and you'll have to scroll down, make a second screenshot, repeat as necessary, and join the screenshots in an image editing program.

Again, the PDF solution is obviously simpler if it doesn't need to look precisely as it does in Safari. 🙂
