IGD Connection Failed?

My server's system.log is filling up with:

Nov 9 16:44:49 myserver servermgrd[54]: IGD Connection Failed: password not accepted
Nov 9 16:45:47 myserver servermgrd[54]: synch needed /private/etc/nat/autoportmap.plist
Nov 9 16:45:48 myserver servermgrd[54]: IGD Connection Failed: password not accepted
Nov 9 16:46:46 myserver servermgrd[54]: synch needed /private/etc/nat/autoportmap.plist
Nov 9 16:46:48 myserver servermgrd[54]: IGD Connection Failed: password not accepted
Nov 9 16:47:46 myserver servermgrd[54]: synch needed /private/etc/nat/autoportmap.plist

anyone know what this means? What is an IGD connection? Even the almighty Google doesn't seem to know...

I guess I misunderstood the original question then 😉.

Hahaha! 🙂

The Airport password is being searched for in the System keychain, indexed by the MAC address of the Base Station.

Name is: "name of base station"
Kind is: AirPort Base Station Password
Account: MAC address of base station (e.g. 00:16:CB:C3:D1:B8)
Where: AirPort Base Station

Well, I've just realized that I have that element but it's in MY keychain, not in the system one. It's been created when I accessed my AirPort Extreme base settings with AirPort Utility. I don't have the server at hand right now but I'll try to move that element in the system keychain and let you know if it works.
Anyway, now I'm wondering why AirPort Utility didn't created that element in the system keychain in the first place and if this is a bug…?

The Airport utility is designed to be used by a user to administer an Airport Base Station.
Putting the password in the users default keychain is a convenience for the user.

Things in the System keychain are for system processes to store sensitive info that can be automatically accessed. I wouldn't expect the Airport utility to be mucking around in there.

I agree, but if this the case, what is the Right Way to create the requested element in the System keychain? Which application should take care of that?

The Server Setup tools are the ones that are supposed to put the entry there. I'd call it a bug that there is not another way from within the Server tools to create the entry, after installation.

In any case an admin user should be able to open the system keychain & add the entry, though you may need to use the first admin (the one created by the installation process).
