Leopard and Nikon film scanners

I upgraded to Leopard, and now Nikon Scan won't run. I get " The application Nikon Scan 4 quit unexpectedly". I reinstalled Nikon Scan 4, and upgraded it, no dice. The Firewire Device tree under 'about this Mac' does not recognize the Coolscan 4000 ED, It did under Tiger. Anyone else experiencing this ?

Thanks
Robin

You may not be lucky with the original software, manufacturers are not good at supporting older machines. I have the same problem with a Minolta ScanElite 5400 which is stranded in Tiger.

However, you can use 3rd party software and one that is regularly updated is Vuescan found at http://www.hamrick.com/ It is shareware so you can try before you buy. It is now updated for Leopard and reports support for the Coolscan 4000 (LS-4000)
