SMTP Timeout Error with new Airport Extreme

Installed Airport Extreme. I can retrieve mail fine using .mac settings in Entourage but get a time out error when sending. I also receive the same error when trying to send through Apple "Mail" program on my computer. I can send fine through my work wireless so it is not the authentication settings. Any advice? Thank you.
