ifconfig: fw0 has no inet interface address!

Every 30 seconds, I'm seeing a message like this...

Nov 11 14:47:23 G5 com.apple.SystemStarter[36]: ifconfig: fw0 has no inet interface address!

... written to the system.log. I have no idea what it means, but it's causing my log file to grow unboundedly. Any guesses what this is, or how to stop it?

Given it was "fw0", I assumed it was the ethernet-over-firewire support. I removed all firewire devices from my machine, turned off firewire in the Network system preferences panel, and rebooted, but this did not help.

Yes, fw0 is for a firewall network.
Run the network utility and select the fw0 interface. See if the "Link Status" is Inactive.
