Kernel Panic & Hardware Test Error : 4SNS/1/40000000:TCOD
The kernel panic log seems to refer to either one of these two things each time:
- Airport Atheros
- bad frame pointer
I have done a hardware test and resulted in a very peculiar error. I mention peculiar because I have tried to search everywhere for a similar error code, but to no avail. It's like as if I am the only one in the world... so I have no other case to base my diagnosis on. Applecare suggests it's a logic board problem but the logic board has already been changed once. I experience panics in both clean (erase & install) versions of 10.4.10 and 10.5 (Leopard).
The error code is : 4SNS/1/40000000:TCOD
This is not a good sign. If Apple service center or phone support can't make the kernel panics go away, I don't know what to do with this 17" white elephant. It's too panicky for work or play. It's a very very draining experience...
Anybody else has experience with this error or has any idea what I should do?
Note: I have tried resetting PRAM, not installing 3rd party applications, keeping a log, new users log in, MEMTEST and etc.
