iCal server using SSL on Port 8443

Hi,

Just installed Leopard iCal server, which is not working properly when SSL is enabled. It gives error "Unexpected secure name resolution error -9844. The server name abc.com may be incorrect'' .

SSL is enabled on default port 8443. Without SSL it works fine, users can subscribe, add, update and delete events. Am I the only one facing this?

Thanks,

mazhar

Ok, I struggled with this myself for a while.

Finally, as I rather desperately tried various URI combinations (going on the hint that the server didn't even seem to be getting hit at the firewall) I discovered that you cannot use "https:" or ":8443" alone, you need both.

Switching to https://portal.mydomain.com:8443/principals/users/zbeckman/ did the trick for me. Possibly stating the obvious here, but I had left off the "https:" in some cases, and probably left off the ":8443" in others...

Hey Mike, Wondering if you ever got this squared away. I think I have the exact same problem. We have an SSL cert from GoDaddy. I have imported the cert and it shows up properly in the Server Admin under Certificates. I am also able to select with the web service and then use it. However when it comes to other services such as iChat or iCal I get the same errors as you. When I try to assign the certificate to iCal and hit save it always reverts back to "Custom Configuration". Did you find any good solutions? Thanks for any more input!

Thanks,
Steve

I so wish someone would come up with an answer to this. When I first setup my iCal server for SSl it worked fine with a self signed certificate. We purchased a Thawte certificate, and now my iCal server is having the same problem that Steve is describing. Open Directory, Web recognize the Thawte certificate just fine.

Also, the calendar for the web groups interface no longer works. I get a (210) error from the server.
