Connecting Piano (keyboard) to garage band

I'm new to GarageBand. How do I connect a keyboard to my Mac? I have a MIDI>USB cable but that didn't work.

It is a Suzuki FP-S Spinet Digital Piano

Okay, so your cable is really a cable. 🙂

Problem is: You might not have a Mac compatible driver for that keyboard. You should try to find Suzuki's tech support and ask if there is a Mac compatible driver (also depending on which version of OS X you are using).

If that doesn't work out, the alternative is using the round Midi out of the keaboard and plug this into a Midi interface (costs around 50 dollars) that goes into your computer. Make sure the Midi interface has a driver compatible to your OS version.
