RobbyMac and Jon:

Restoring iPhoto Themes

1 - delete the current application.

2 - delete any files with iPhoto in the file name that reside in your HD/Library/Receipts folder.

3 - delete the Themes folder from your User/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder.

Also look in the HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder. If there is one there then delete it also.

5 - boot into the system disk that came with your computer and do a custom install selecting only iPhoto OR use the iLife disk if you have that.

After installing reinstall the iPhoto 7.1.1 updater again followed by a repair of disk permissions with Disk Utility. Also make sure you're running the latest Quicktime, 7.3.

I installed Leopard and installed afterwards iLife 08 again... then i got the same problem "no available themes" when i want to make a book or calender. i found the folder themes under library/app support/iphoto this folder i copied to user/library/app support/iphoto then it worked. (i also tried to copy the folder to iphoto->show package content/content/ressources and there is the folder still, but after i did this it didnt work, but after i copied the folder in user/library... it worked!!

I had this problem with my Macbook with pre-installed Leopard. I followed the instructions here (interesting note: there was no iPhoto folder in User/Library/Application Support to delete). After re-installing from CD, and updating, iPhoto no longer gives the "no available themes" message, but still does nothing when I try to print (even when choosing Print from the menu, rather than clicking the icon).

I looked at User/Library/Application Support: still no iPhoto folder. So quit iPhoto, and copied iPhoto folder from HD/Library/Application Support to User/Library/Application Support. No change.

Someone please help. There must be thousands of people with this problem.

Chrisley,

Everything works fine for me and I don't have any iPhoto folder in user/Library/Application Support/ either. I do have the folder in hd/Library/Application Support/

I do have hd/Library/Application Support/iPhoto/Themes/ and it contains 298 folders with various theme names. If you don't have this you might want to reinstall iLife '08 after deleting:

iPhoto.app
iPhoto folder in hd/Library/Application Support/
Any receipt files with names that have "iPhoto" in the beginning, in hd/Library/Receipts/
com.apple.iPhoto.plist in USER/Library/Preferences

See if that helps
