All my music is gone from Ipod, still on PC but greyed out

Yesterday, I ran the upgrade to 1.2.2 for my Ipod classic. After the upgrade was complete I tried to play a song but all 7 GB of my music is gone.

The music is still visible on my PC in Itunes. When I plug my Ipod into my PC, the Ipod show up in Itunes. Itunes can see all the songs on my Ipod but they are in grey print.

What have I done now? And more important how do I fix it.

In another forum, a Windows 2000 user reported success with installing 1.2.2 with their iPod connected to an XP machine running 7.4.3.1, then brought their iPod back to their home (Windows 2000) library and it is now working fine with 1.2.2.

So, you may be able to re-load 1.2.2 from another computer that has a more updated iTunes version, then go back to your Win 2K machine. Doing this still requires you to restore your iPod (in order to re-install 1.2.2), but this may be an alternative to rolling your iPod back to 1.2.1 (in case that doesn't work).
