Matshita CW-8124 + Leopard = DVD Problem

Although I'm almost completely positive this is a Leopard issue, I'll post it here just to be safe.

I have a first generation Mac mini that refuses to read only certain DVD media (IE some work, some don't). I'll put the disc in and hear the usual clutter of noise as the drive spins up the DVD. It will stop after an excessive amount of read time and just eject the disc.

Now, I'm aware that certain drives don't mix well with certain media, be it personal or commercial discs. However, these are commercial DVDs THAT DID WORK PRIOR TO LEOPARD INSTALL.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

10.5 seems to have a lot of caveats included. I expect more from Apple...

Hi..
With my serious hat on!!! i'd really say this sounds very much like a DRM issue ... unless like the previous post reckons its a common fault with a particular DVD/CD RW firmware ... mmmm!!!

in the recent Vista upgrade DRM was set to on by default !! may be its a TV show thing...
dunno haven't experienced it , but then again i don't own any TV show DVD's ...

Considering that M$ doesn't churn out the platforms like Apple/mac i reckon Vista hasn't been to bad ... food for thought huh!!!
