HP F2100, F4100, 7400, L7700, C4380, C6200, and C7200 Series Beta Updates

The next round of beta drivers is available for download from HP.com. There should be one more round this week (maybe even later today) and another round next week 🙂. After that we will start posting final versions for devices that don't have beta's available as well as going back and updating the beta drivers to final.

One known issue with these, they do not fix the duplexing issue yet (but we have found the issue). I hope to have a patch available with this fix for the two OfficeJets that are part of this group next week. Sorry for the fix not being part of this release, but it takes time from the point I have software for you until it makes it through the posting process onto HP.com.

With that being said, here are the new beta availabilities:

DeskJet F2100 Series
DeskJet F4100 Series
OfficeJet 7400 Series
OfficeJet Pro L7700 Series
PhotoSmart C4380 Series
PhotoSmart C6200 Series
PhotoSmart C7200 Series

Go to http://support.hp.com, click "Software and Driver downloads", type in your model number, and click the ">>" button (or press return/enter) select Mac OS X, and then click "HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers - Mac OS X v10.5"

Still working hard to get this all done. And just trying to help.

Enjoy!

Just a quick follow-up. If you are having duplexing issues, please post them on this thread:

I just want to make sure I get you the fix as soon as possible and if you post your info there it will help me prioritize the devices we get fixes out for.

Doh! Looks like I jumped the gun a little at 1:30 AM when I posted. The Photosmart C7200 series, as well as the Deskjet F4100 and F2100 series devices don't have appeared to actually make it through the process. Needless to say, they'll show up soon (my hope is sometime late tonight). Sorry for the "pre" announcement of these. I guess I should have checked all 7 packages to make sure they're up.

Just trying to help.

Yes, we are all thankful.

However, I notice a discouraging pattern. The first set of drivers is for HP C3100, C4100, C4200, C5100, & C5200 Series; and the second set of drivers is for HP F2100, F4100, 7400, L7700, C4380, C6200, and C7200 Series.

I have a C6180. Will the C6200 series drivers work? It seems unfortunate, to me, that the C6100 series (my printer) seems to have been skipped over in the sequence. Is there some (bad) feature of my printer that I've not previously recognized??

Ooops, my bad. I forgot to add that other known issue (importing using TWAIN caused Photoshop/Acrobat/other TWAIN app to crash). This will be fixed with the final releases. And with any luck I'll have a work around for you sometime next week. In the meantime, use the Scan Pro to do the scanning, then bring the image into your app.

Just trying to help.

I understand, everyone is waiting patiently to get their devices working. And as I said, I made a mistake when posting that these are available, but I also said they should be available tonight. I'd take a look around 11 PM PST and see. I'm doing everything I can to make sure they'll show up then.

PS, I am listening to this board to help prioritize what devices get fixed first, and what needs to be fixed. Even if I am not replying as often as I would like to.

Well, there have been some problems getting the links posted to HP.com as I promised. So after a little bit of work, I managed to get some direct download links for you. These will show up on HP.com at some point soon, but I know you are all patiently waiting, so here goes:

And in case you're looking here for the other devices I promised last week:

Again, I'm sorry for the delay in getting these to you, as I said before even large companies run into technical difficulties.

Just trying to help.

PS Obviously if you'd prefer to use FTP instead, just edit the link to be "ftp://" instead.
