I am not familiar with the .svq format--looks like it might be a proprietary Roland format though I would have to look into it. Perhaps someone else has experience there.
Just some things to try in the meantime though: When you tried to drag the file into the arrange window, did you drop it on an Audio track, Instrument track, or MIDI track? Make sure it ends up on an Instrument or MIDI track and then make sure you have an input set up on the Instrument or a Sequencer set up on the MIDI track for anything to work. Of course that doesn't help anything if you cant get the file to even show up in the arrange window.
Can you look in the Roland and see if it will export general MIDI information (.mid or .smf)? With GeneralMIDI you can put the file in anything, including your cell phone for playback. Sounds like crap, but... In Logic you can then set this up on one or more MIDI Tracks or Instrument tracks and set up one of Logic's Sequencers to work the magic.
If you don't have the Roland routed MIDI in and out with Logic so that it is being triggered during playback, you will not get the same sounds you set up in the Roland.
