Unlocked German iPhone not working

So I had the pleasure to give Apple and T-mobile 999 euros for an iPhone. After 30 hours it activates in iTunes but there the glory end.

* I can't call the phone (the hourglass just runs and then the phone jumps out to screensaver)
* I can't open the SMS app after receiving SMS
* I can't open last-calls list
* I can't dial phone numbers in the dial-app.

Are there anybody else who has this problems?

I use an unlocked German iPhone with Swedish carrier SIMs (Telenor and Telia).

Regards
Patrik

Earlier in the thread somebody said that the "international" are new in 1.1.2. Maybe these "international" are the problem with our phone. Did anyone try out to downgrade to 1.1.1? Just downgrade - nothing more. So if that is possible we are working with original apple software - and that could not be a problem with our warranty.
If we are trying - what could be the worst case? Reset to 1.1.2?

Did anyone try???

You are very miss informed. Nothing is being done to the baseband (I think) and as the iphone is already unlocked nothing needs to be done to it. Read the thread above, do the googles and then you will understand the problem. According to some sites the baseband can also be returned to the original state. Very dangerous and don't go there. This thread has to date only discussed the problem of taking an iphone to a country not supported.

In conclusion it is not the sim that is the problem, but rather the comparison between the sims data (country unique) and the limited data within the iphone FW (unique to only countries that Apple choose to support at this time)

Dear,
I bought the iphone 14days ago whilst in Germany at a T-Mobile shop for 999Euro
and brought to Ghana.It activated after 48hours,I cannot dial from the keypad,cannot access my SMS,cannot receive a call except from an iphone,my bluetooth cannot receive nor pair with any other device.I have sent phone back to Germany by DHL with my international MTN roaming chip.I want T-Mobile to get the things mentioned working before they send back the phone to me.I hope it works cause I enjoyed the emails I could receive and send with it.
Hope to get some good news to post nextweek

they idd say they send the code over by mail, but that's ******** as I've seen on french forums.

the only thing what's in that mail is that you need to connect to iTunes and do a repair of your iPhone.

Lots of people are now doing repairs before they get the "codes" with success.

So iv you've called the hotline and they took your credit and you gave them your IMEI nr you should wait a couple of days and try to restore your iPhone with iTunes (I try to do this every night now)

If you're on OSX you should remove the firmware ou downloaded the day before in username/library/itunes directory.

hope this helps 🙂

another thing no 1.1.3 today 😟
I don't know how iTunes scedules it's days when it searches for updates, but it first said that it would look for updates today, and now it says it will look again for updates on 15/12... maybe this is just random.

anyway I hope for an update soon, to save our day 🙂

Hi!

What the **** are you talking about? Which codes?

I talked to apple several times, and the last answer they gave me was better to bring the iphone back than to wait for a solution.

I just jailbreaked successfully, but - correct me, if I am wrong - that doesn't help a bit, does it?
I can't even install anysim cause it is 1.1.2.

Don't get e wrong: I was loyal to apple by buying a unlocked iphone for 999€.
But it doesn't work, so I follow any lead I am given.

So, it's jailbreaked. Now what?

all the best!
