Red pixel on Iphone screen

Bought the phone 3 weeks ago. Yesterday, a red pixel appeared in the middle of the calculator icon. This red dot will not go away. I have tried powering the phone on and off. Any suggestions on how to fix this myself or do I need to bring in to the Apple store to have repaired. It is very annoying to constantly see a red dot on my screen.

There are a lot of factors that go into determining if a screen needs to be replaced or repaired.

For example, if it is visible, it could be more than one pixel.

I bought a iphone in early august and it had one blue dead pixel on the screen. last month a went to my local apple store and they replaced the phone with no questions asked. 🙂

Its what is known as a dead pixel. There are a few webpages out there that can help fix this sometimes, but generally its just a hardware defect.

Bad news is not all Apple store's consider one dead pixel a need for replacement.

Sounds like the pixel is stuck on, and I would recommend working with AppleCare or your local Apple Retail Store to see about getting it repaired or replaced.

The red dot is always there no matter what you do on my Iphone.

Normally, 1 pixel is not enough to get a replacement or free repair, but a stuck red pixel is arguably more annoying than a large number of scattered black pixels. So they might be sympathetic.
