Coverflow, does it STILL List by Artist? Or have they made it so the "ALBUMS" are represented only. *On 1.0.2 mine still shows artists*
Secondly...when I search for an artist say, Celine Dion, it will pull up 1 album with 1 song on it. I will click it open, only to be at the top of my entire playlist.
Does anyone know yet if this update fixes the bug where all bookmarking data is reverted to a previous state when connecting to the computer, if a game has been played?
I got something I'd asked for...text documents and iFlash decks used to scroll very sluggishly with the 3g Nano. With the update they are now are much faster. Also, the hyperlinks for different sections of decks in iFlash weren't functioning properly and now appear to work as intended. I'm very happy with these changes as flashcards and text documents are something that I'm having to wait for 3rd party developer SDK for with the iPhone. This is nice to have in the meantime.
My photos are working fine. I'm not noticing the same improvement in coverflow that some are seeing.
I can tell you what's not working with mine since the update:
1. Repeat track doesn't work at all. It simply skips to the next track.
2. Screensaver clock still displays time in 12-hour format even though I have it set on 24-hour format.
That's all so far. Well, except for the annoying new "in headset"-click sounds.
I completely agree, after the update the volume sometimes jumps almost uncontrollably. It always jumped around a little, because my finger would slip but now I feel it got considerably worse. Or am I just crazy?
I got what I wanted... In v1.0.1 and 1.0.2 If you were in the Album list and clicked into an album (with e.g. 9 songs) and then used Menu to go back one step, the All Songs count would only show the number of songs in that album you were in (e.g. 9). Clicking into 'All Songs' and then Menu back out would give the correct count of ALL songs. (e.g. 1007 or whatever).
After realizing this morning that my notes and calendar were "gone" I briefly freaked, then did a hard reset (hold switch on/off, then press menu and center button down until Nano resets). Following that, everything was perfect again, and has remained so. (So far, so good, anyway.)
I am completely thrilled about the calendar word wrap issue being resolved, btw.
As for photos, I was showing thumbnails, but no full-size pix. I'm a manual sync-er and don't resync photos unless I want other than my usual 4 pix I keep on there. I did manually resync, and then the full-size pix were fine again. (If you sync automatically, you may not even realize there was a prob.)
Since my nano's firmware was upgraded I've noticed a problem with accessing my podcasts. I haven't seen anyone else mention it. I can't click the Play button on a podcast 'folder' in the nano and have it play the contents automatically. Now when I do that, it brings up information on the last song I played. But I can't play the song, and the only "way out" is to click menu to go back to the Podcasts folder. So to play them, I have to click the center button on the folder, then click Play. Does that make sense? Anyone else have that problem?
I also had a weird issue tonight where all the album covers became corrupted and unviewable. Turned the iPod off, turned it back on, and they were still all pixelated and weird. Connected the USB cable, synced some new podcasts, ejected, and the cover images were back.
Yeah, except when I downloaded and ran this update for my 3rd generation Nano, ITunes no longer recognises the IPOD, the perpetual blinking apple is on the screen, the Nano will not reset, and was told by phone support to return my Nano to the manufacturer.
This happened to me too. When you see the blinking apple logo, press the center key + the play / pause button until the iPod screen turns white and says "disk mode". You may need to try a couple times because it depends on your timing with the iPod trying to boot up.
Once it's in disk mode, connect to iTunes and your computer will recognize the iPod and you can do a factory reset. It took 4 tries with the factory reset (I got a bunch of errors) but it did finally work and my iPod is fine now.
In disk mode, make sure you copy off anything you need from the iPod as the factory reset erases everything.
